Meet Janel Hulbert

Janel Hulbert grew up in the rural farming town of Parma, Idaho. From a young age, she learned the value of hard work by helping on her family’s farm and in her mom’s small earring shop. Surrounded by a tight knit community, she grew to understand the importance of service, traditions, and building a village of people that support one another.

That foundation shaped her commitment to being actively involved wherever she lives. In college, she developed leadership and educational skills that strengthened her drive to give back and help communities thrive.

After becoming parents, Janel and her husband Daniel moved to Utah with their two young children. A year later, they settled in Roy, where they bought their first home and grew their family to four children (now ages 9, 11, 15, and 17). Over the past 15 years, they’ve built a life rooted in connection, care, and community.

Janel has served in a variety of local roles, including PTSA President at Sand Ridge Junior High, a member of the Roy Business Advisory Board, the Roy Planning Commission, Roy Communities That Care, Roy school Community Councils, and as a leader with Scouting America. Her involvement reflects her deep belief in building strong, supportive communities for all ages.

Now an older millennial, longtime Roy resident, and mother of four, Janel is passionate about preserving the hometown spirit of Roy while making thoughtful decisions to guide its future.
